Against Time is a video featuring a suited businessman rushing in an underground train station. Set within a space of transience, multiple shots of the moving figure are spliced together in a continuous sequence and looped.
This mode of circular unfolding traps the isolated character in a constant hurrying, perpetually entering and exiting the frame simultaneously, towards an unknown destination. The video serves as a jarring reflection and questioning on the haste and monotony of everyday life.
Presented at The Sidewalk Video Gallery (2022), organised by the Fountain Street Gallery, Boston; and an official selection of ALC Video Art Festival (2022), under ‘MUSEOVERSE’ screened at the Alicante Museum of Contemporary Art, Spain.
