Mindless Head
2021
Faux white-collar, motor,
plastic container, wooden rocker
30 x 30 x 30 cm
Mindless Head is an automated rocking sculpture of an abstracted head. Constructed out of an assemblage of items including a plastic container, faux white-collar, wooden off-cut and rocker base, the head tilts in alternating up and down motion through a motorised camshaft concealed by a carpeted platform.
Constantly nodding, the sculpture appears stuck in a liminal state of consciousness, moving without thought, motivation, or character which ridicules the way of our contemporary existence.
