Outrun is a video of myself dashing back and forth in front of a 7 frames-per-second camera in the nighttime. Deliberately omitting the rules of high frame rates for fast-moving objects, I sprint across with my utmost energy and might in an attempt to surpass the slow capture speed and be unrecorded.
All efforts in accomplishing the transcendent feat were compiled into a continuous sequence of my body moving in and out of the frame and aggressive running footsteps echoing, extremely fruitless.
This work is part of an ongoing series of instruction-based body-camera experiments at self-effacement, loosely exploring the philosophical question "if a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"
