Slow Speed

2017
Single-channel FHD video performance, colour, sound
6 minutes 27 seconds

Slow Speed is a public performance that explores a decelerated way of living. In an environment where efficiency has taken over most of our daily interactions, our individual rhythmic patterns become homogenised.

Manoeuvring through busy streets with 3 footwear structurally altered to disrupt the natural movement of walking, the performance is my futile attempt at consciously imposing a slower pace on myself; an experimental approach to decouple myself from the hustle and bustle of city living.

Presented at CICA Musem as part of The Body (2018), organised by Czong Institute for Contemporary Art Museum, South Korea.
